Interior Painting Done the Right Way

A great interior paint job is not just about colour - it is about what happens before the first coat goes on. Most complaints about painting come down to poor preparation: visible roller marks, bumpy surfaces, paint peeling within months, messy edges around trim and ceilings.

At OV Property Solutions, preparation is the largest part of every interior painting project. We inspect every surface, fill holes and cracks, sand rough areas, caulk gaps between trim and walls, and apply primer where needed. Only then do we apply finish coats of premium paint for a result that looks smooth, even, and professional.

We work in occupied homes with care - protecting floors, furniture, and fixtures, and cleaning up at the end of every work day. Your home stays livable throughout the project.

Our Interior Painting Process

Step 1 - On-site assessment and written estimate
We visit your home, discuss the scope, identify any surface issues, and provide a detailed written quote with clear pricing.

Step 2 - Surface preparation
Holes filled, cracks patched, surfaces sanded, gaps caulked, primer applied where needed. This step is where the quality of the final result is determined.

Step 3 - Protection of your space
Floors covered with drop cloths, furniture moved and covered, fixtures masked. Light switches, outlet covers, and hardware removed where necessary.

Step 4 - Paint application
Two coats of premium paint (Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams) applied with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment depending on the surface. Edges cut in by hand for clean lines.

Step 5 - Final inspection and cleanup
We walk through the finished space with you. Touch-ups are done on the spot. Drop cloths removed, floors cleaned, furniture returned. The space is ready to use.

Interior Surfaces We Handle

  • Walls (any room, any size)
  • Ceilings (flat, textured, vaulted)
  • Trim, baseboards, and door casings
  • Doors (interior and closet doors)
  • Stairwells and hallways
  • Closet interiors
  • Accent walls and feature walls
  • Laundry rooms, utility rooms, basements

Premium Products for Lasting Results

We use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams exclusively. These are professional-grade paints that provide better coverage, truer colours, and longer life than builder-grade alternatives.

Common finish options:

  • Flat/Matte: ceilings and low-traffic areas - hides imperfections
  • Eggshell: living rooms, bedrooms, hallways - slight sheen, easy to clean
  • Satin: kitchens, bathrooms, high-traffic areas - durable and wipeable
  • Semi-gloss: trim, doors, moulding, cabinets - durable, distinct from walls

We help you choose the right colour and finish for each surface. If you are undecided, we provide colour consultation to narrow down options that work with your lighting, flooring, and furnishings.

FAQ

Two coats minimum on every surface. In some cases (dark to light colour changes, new drywall) we apply additional primer coats for full coverage.
We handle moving light to medium furniture. Heavier items should be shifted beforehand - we will identify anything that needs attention during the estimate.
Every wall is inspected and repaired before painting. Small holes, nail pops, hairline cracks, and rough patches are filled, sanded, and primed. Larger damage may require drywall repair, which we also provide.
Preparation. A low-cost painter will roll over imperfections, skip primer, cut one coat, and leave rough edges. We fix the surface first, then apply two coats of premium paint with proper technique. The difference is visible immediately and lasts years longer.
We use low-VOC paints which produce minimal odour. Ventilation is maintained throughout the project. Most clients can comfortably stay in their homes during interior painting.
Exterior season in Timmins typically runs from late May through mid-September, depending on overnight temperatures and humidity. We book exterior projects in advance and plan around the weather window. Surfaces need to be dry, with overnight temperatures consistently above 10°C for proper paint cure.
Typical timeline for a standard kitchen is 5 to 8 business days. Doors and drawer fronts are removed and sprayed in our workspace, boxes are painted in place. The kitchen is usable between phases but full functionality returns once doors are reinstalled and the finish has cured.
